About Notre Dame College

Notre Dame College is a Catholic, coeducational liberal arts college located in South Euclid, a large suburb of Cleveland, which is the county seat of Cuyahoga County and the most populous county in the US state of Ohio, having a population approximated at a number of more than 478 000 inhabitants, during the 2000 census, fact which also makes it the 33rd largest city in USA (at the time), and the 2nd largest city in the state.

Notre Dame College was founded in 1922, as a women's college, under the guidance of Mother M. Cecilia Romen, with a student population of 13 women and 11 novices. The institution became coeducational in January 2001 and offers its students, today, a total number of 29 majors, as well as individual-designed majors and a growing intercollegiate athletic program.

Athletic

The athletic teams at NDC, as the college is, sometimes, also referred to, are known as the Falcons, which compete in 21 intercollegiate sports, in NCAA Division II, since July 2009, previously competing in NAIA's American Mideast Conference. Among the sports in which the Falcons compete, there are: basketball, baseball, tennis, lacrosse, soccer, softball, volleyball, swimming and diving and more.
